About

From Novice to Enthusiast

While I wasn’t born into the horse industry, I was blessed to have had family friends that
my parents allowed to put my sisters and myself on a horse at a very young age. Since
then, in the last 40 years, I have been exposed to and involved with so many different
breeds and disciplines and have put myself in the path of some of the greatest people in
the horse industry, across many areas and states and different levels and appreciations
of these wonderful creatures we call horses.

I started at a small lesson barn outside of Louisville Kentucky, then joined United States
Pony Club. Once “on our own”, we went schooling show to schooling show, doing the
best we could with what we had. And with the best of the most stubborn ponies and
horses that could be found. Over the course of my life since then, I have encountered
an array of breeds, each with its unique characteristics and charm. Every breed offered
something different and taught me valuable lessons. Whether about the breed
themselves or simply appreciating each one for who they are. Maybe even some, not
appreciating them ha-ha

The horse industry is vast, encompassing numerous disciplines that cater to different
preferences and abilities. Throughout the years, I have engaged in and monitored
numerous equestrian disciplines, including combined training, hunter-jumper events, in-
hand showing, and trail riding. Western, draft horse shows, driving, saddle seat, and
more. Each discipline required a specific set of skills, and being a part of each of them
made the journey even more exciting.

Throughout my ride, I have had the privilege of meeting some of the most influential and
knowledgeable individuals in the horse industry. These people have shared their
wisdom, offered guidance, and inspired me to pursue my dreams. Whether it was a
seasoned trainer, a respected breeder, or a fellow enthusiast, their impact on my life has
been profound. From local shows to National competitions, the horse industry has
offered various levels of engagement that I have loved. Now after decades in the horse
world, I am ready to share my stories and experiences with others who share the same
passion. As I embark on this new chapter, I am eager to “get back on the rail” of the
horse world.
